When do you start decorating?

Have you all set a date for putting up your christmas decorations? I am planning on either the last weekend in Nov or first weekend in December.

I usually start with a few things and gradually build on it over a few days. I try not to stress myself out by doing it all in one day. It's impossible with the children and there is so much to go up.

What are you plans?

I know a lot of people here, especially in the U.S. have their decorating correspond with American Thanksgiving. Being Canadian, our Thanksgiving is in a couple weeks (second Monday of October). Therefore, I usually decorate the house a little around the start of the Christmas Season (November 13th). I've done it earlier a couple times, though. It all depends on what Kim tells me to do it.

I start around Nov. 15th, sometimes earlier. I like to enjoy Christmas for as long as possible.

We started later and later every year. This year I want to put up the decoration on Thanksgiving weekend to enjoy more of the season.

I've always thought that I should wait until Thanksgiving is over so that we can appreciate the harvest decorations at our family gathering. My goal is to get the tree up the very next day though...I love having the tree up early so we can enjoy it every evening as we watch our favorite Christmas movies and I keep it up through the celebration of the Feast of the Three Kings- Epiphany. To me, it is still very much Christmas until then!

This is just what we do at our house too!

After November 1st my house is fair game. hah hah.

This year since Halloween is on Wednesday, I'll probably take down the Halloween decorations the next weekend and start with Christmas around the same time...November 3-4.

I start decorating the day after Thanksgiving. I like to take my time, so with all the decorations I have, it usually takes me all weekend.

After Nov. 1, I slowly put everything up to be ready and lit the day after Thanksgiving.
