I will do that fresh cut of the trunk.....that was my problem last Christmas.....the tree lost so many needles....even tho it was fresh....the problem was....since I didn´t cut the trunk....the tree...
I had an eggnog latte from Starbucks a few years ago and was nearly sick. Absolutely hated it. It's put me right off, but maybe a home made version would be better. I must give it another chance.
It being homemade makes all the difference!!! My sister hates homemade eggnog but loves the store bought stuff. I, on the other hand, tried the store bought stuff years ago and it made me physically gag so I refused to drink it for years but two Christmases ago I tried homemade eggnog and it is some of the best stuff I've ever had. It's definitely worth trying homemade before you swear off of it completely!!
I have tried alot of different eggnogs and I personally have found that homemade is the best. Now, I'm talking about traditional, old-fashioned, home made eggnog, just like my great aunts and grandmother used to make (and liadies and gentlemen, its not fat free...) Also, if you want a little kick in it and watch Cousin Eddie dance around with a lamp shade on his head, well then just add it in yourself; me, I like to mix it with Captain Morgan Spiced Rum...
One of the best store bought eggnogs that I have ever had to this very day, (and I highly recommend) was from the High's stores and it was their name brand....
I haven't noticed any egg nog when gorcery shopping, but then again, I wasen't looking for it either. My sister in law introduced egg nog in coffee, to my husband and I. Now, we enjoy that during the holidays.
