Moving on from tragedy

Hi all!
I'm hoping some of you can help me out. My cousin's daughter died at the young age of 18. She had Noonan Syndrome which is a genetic condition that can affect the heart, growth, blood clotting, mental and physical development. Affected individuals may have behavior problems, learning difficulties
and many other anomalies. Her daughter underwent a lot of surgeries and organ transplants from 9 months old til the age of 18. She went into the hospital before Christmas and never returned home. She died in the hospital and her parents kept their Christmas tree up that they had decorated as a family prior to her entering the hospital. 8 mos after their daughter died, their house burned down & they lost everything. Rebuilding their home is done, but not their lives completely. Friends/family have given them decorations and she's bought some too but she's having a hard time getting into the spirit of the holidays. I suggested a memory tree and she loved the idea. She doesn't know what to do though and I need some ideas from all of you on crafty ways she can display her photos she saved and turn them into ornaments or other things she can do to help her through this. This is the 1st year in their home since the fire. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you all so much! Denise (Santa's Helper)

I am so sorry to hear this. You all have gone through a great deal!

Walmart's photo center has many different ornaments, blankets, coffee mugs, key chains, etc that they can put a picture on. While checking that out maybe you could look at their photo books that they create using the pictures that were saved. Like a brag book.

Craft stores usually sell photo ornament kits. Another idea is to make a Christmas Wreath and place some these photo ornaments on them.

Maybe she can play Santa to another sick child in the hospital or select a name off an angel tree.

Thank you Bradmac for the prayers. Those are always appreciated. It's hard to tell her what to do that will help her because you never get over the loss of a child. Thank you for the ideas Minta. I'll pass them along and see what we can do.

Wow, That is a very sad and tragic story. It is a very sad turn of events in your cousin's life. I'm deeply and humbly saddened for all of their losses that they have had. I hope and pray that they can find some peace in their life and I wish them all the happiness that life can give and offer to them for the rest of their lives....

All of our families, are truely a very large and important key to all of our happiness in life and having their support, leaning on their shoulders when times are tough, means everything in the world at times...

That is such a sad story. A nice idea might be for your cousin to make a collage of favorite photos of her daughter. She could buy a collage frame, and take a large frame, and make a nice collage.

oh my Denise...this is heartbreaking....I will pray for the family!!! As for crafting ideas...I would use her favorite colors for the tree decoration....maybe some ornaments with her favorite cartoon characters on it that she liked as a child and stuff like this....this is so heartbreaking...I am almost crying....feeling for Your friend and the entire family...nobody should go through this and bury their own child

So sorry for your loss, it is always hard to loose a child for any reason.

Our local mall has a memory tree every year. There is a book where you can write down your memory of who the ribbon you place on the tree is about. Every year I write for my dad and my son. The ribbon is beautiful, your could use different colors and has a tag to put the name of the person on, in your case it can say who it is from.
