Where does "original" Rudolph exist?

I noticed it again this year - the show was just choppy throughout, and obviously done in order to get more commercial time in the broadcast.

Does the RTRNR DVD have the original, B&W airing in it? Is it possible to see the entire show in one spot? I have a RTRNR DVD somewhere at home, but I'm not sure if it has the original version on it.

To my knowledge, the original broadcast was in color.

AFAIK, the DVD I have is complete and original EXCEPT for a few details. The original GE commercials (done by Santa's elves!) are missing (I think some of these are on YouTube, if you're curious), and in the title sequence, the star on top of the tree originally turned around to show the GE logo on its back. The revised version of "We're a Couple of Misfits" is shown in the DVD version, but the original version is provided as an extra.

Over the years, I remember various cuts and tweaks. Some years, "Jingle Jingle Jingle" was missing; other years, "We Are Santa's Elves" was trimmed; some years, the PI lines "This is man's work" and "get the women back to Christmastown" were cut. The DVD is probably the way to go to avoid frustration! Even though it appears to be from a 16mm print instead of a 35mm, it's complete, except as noted above.
