Some of you may know me from one of our sister Christmas sites: clausnet.com
I asked Jeff on this and he was okay with me posting this here in movies.
I am looking to raise a small amount of funds to host three private screenings of an upcoming documentary that features my grandfather, James D. (Jim) Rielly. Jim Rielly was well known for his kindness, generosity, and charitable acts. But most notably, he was known as Rhode Island's Most Famous Santa Claus.
The film called, They Wore The Red Suit (www.thesantamovie.com
) tells the story of the men who portray Santa Claus.
The Producers of the film have graciously offered to hold a private screening of the film in my town for folks who knew my grandfather. The majority of the people at the screening will be older folks who remember my grandfather but are not able to get around too easily.
All funds we raise will go directly towards the Producer's travel expenses and equipment rental (projector, screen, speakers) only. These screenings are not for profit in any way.
I hope you will consider donating to this event. Any amount, even $1 is greatly appreciated.
A private screening of this film, in the town that my grandfather loved so much, would be a great honor for him and my family.
Thank you very much for your consideration!

About James D. Rielly
Throughout his Santa Claus career, my grandfather took no money for his appearances. He was featured in hundreds of newspapers, magazines, and on national television shows and received letters from celebrities, dignitaries, Presidents, and His Holiness, Pope John Paul II.
In 1979, his name was recorded in the United States Senate Congressional Record as “James D. Rielly, A Truly Remarkable Santa Claus from Rhode Island” and in December 2010, James D. Rielly was honored as one of the original inductees into the prestigious International Santa Claus Hall of Fame (www.santaclaushall.com
) in Santa Claus, Indiana.
