Merry Podcast #26 -- All We Need is Elves

The latest episode of the Merry Podcast is now available and titled "All We Need is Elves".

In this episode we take a merry look at the history of elves, guided by our own Maureen, as we discuss where they come from and how they are widely celebrated not only at Christmas but year round in countries around the world.

We also discuss the latest suggestion from the Freedom from Religion Foundation that we strip Christmas as a national holiday in the USA and replace it with a celebration of the Winter Solstice. This discussion takes a turn at comparing the declarations of Thanksgiving and Christmas as a holiday by the government and the difference could not be more shocking.

Also in this episode we talk about the history of the influence of the Pope on Christmas, a look at some of our favorite non-Christmas movies that remind us of Christmas, and we hear new Christmas music from Sarah McLaughlan, Tim Thompson and David Ian.
