A bold Good Morning to each and all here at MMC.

The day has dawned clear and crisp with no rain.
Hopefully, the weather will hold and I will have clear sailing to the coast tomorrow afternoon.
We show 59 degrees here at this hour.

And what else is crisp and clear as a bell?
The message of the count, of course:
Days to the Season: 202
Days to Christmas Day: 244
TOMORROW, my Friends -- the 1/3 Christmas Day marker.
Then.
Oh, and Then!
200-days to the start of Christmas Season 2013!

One more day here for me then I'm off for two.
(Will seem strange. It has been over 6 months since I have been away.)

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Everybody!
Keep the faith that only Christmas can insure.

I'm just happy that they are actually looking for a problem this time instead of telling her to just start taking an aspirin everyday.
Sounds like she is recovering well already, a good sign. Hopefully they get her in a good stroke prevention program so this can be prevented from happening again.
Continuing to pray for you all

From playing fgootball all through high school it has damaged my knees. I am trying to wait as long as possible since new technology is always coming around as far as knee replacememt goes. Well I hope everyone has a good night...we are 8 months away from xmas eve~!!!
years ago, when still single, I did this, was actually out the door before it hit me that it was very dark for 5 in the afternoon! LOL

Knees problems are no fun, you really appreciate how amazing our bodies are and how easy it is to mess up the works! Don't wait to long to get them fixed, you have a couple of little ones to chase!

Good morning everyone!

It's a brisk morning in Ottawa. I'd say not as brisk as it will be in approximately eight months from now... Speaking of being exactly eight months away... Happy Rudolph Day! It's already the 25th of April. Hard to believe it has been four months since we all gathered around our beautiful Christmas Trees with family and loved ones. Let's continue making 2013 just as - or even more - memorable than 2012!

The extended forecast in Ottawa is getting me very excited. Temperatures are to be moving into the 20s (70s) on Monday. It may have been a little later than usual, but Spring weather will be here! Speaking of next week, I spoke with my dad yesterday and he's planning to visit the beginning of May. His visiting usually coincides with my birthday (April 30th), but he was asked to work a couple shifts at the Steel Plant (where he retired from a few years ago). It's good that he still has the option to go back to work whenever he wants or is asked. Anyway, I'm excited for his visit. I have not seen him - or any member of my family - since Christmas Holidays!

I have some therapy today. I am hoping that it goes well. Perhaps my doctor will be able to give me a bit more insight on whether it is indeed my knee or IT Band that is the current issue. I don't know which I am hoping for! We shall see. As for tonight, no plans, really. Hopefully we'll just sit around and watch the Bruins game.

I hope everyone enjoyed the 'Pines yesterday. Carl really let it all out for the final time this month. He knows how to throw a party! Can't wait to see what he has in store the beginning of May! Have a great Thursday!

I am exhausted. We went to our fourth funeral in the past two weeks. Today's funeral was for a 57-year-old who had colon cancer. He was an ag pilot and fire department chief. I thought I would be okay until we walked into the cemetary and two fire trucks on opposite sides of the road had their ladders extended and touching at the top to form an inverted > with the point at the top. Crossing from one fire truck to the other and making an "A" was a cable from which was flying the American Flag. Very touching. So many police officers, federal government employees, and firefighters formed one group facing the family members. Then two fire trucks entered the cemetary, one being a really old fire truck with their antique bell. On the back platform where the firemen used to ride, was the casket. At the end of the funeral, ten ag pilots flew in "the Missing Man Formation." Reggie's plane was flown by a family member who then turned toward the west away from the rest of the formation. (Wikipedia explained it: The flight approaches from the south, preferably near sundown, and one of the aircraft will suddenly split off to the west, flying into the sunset. In all cases, the aircraft performing the pull-up, split off, or missing from the formation, is honoring the person who has died, and it represents their departure to the heavens.) Kelly was presented with Reggie's captain's helmet. Not many eyes were dry today. Then the interim captain rang the antique fire bell, signifying the "last call." (This was explained on Wikipedia: During each firefighter funeral, there is the ceremony of the "Tolling of the Bell," where bells gong in a succinct and traditional pattern. The bell ceremony is reminiscent of the original firehouse bells that tolled when there was a fire. The actual ceremony is based upon the pattern of the original method of communicating that a firefighter had fallen, which is the telegraph. The telegrapher would tap out the word "fell" with five measured dashes, a pause and then repeated two more times.) As I said earlier--very touching.
that story brought tears to my eyes, what a wonderful way to remember a lost friend.
It is hard to have to go to so many friends in such a short time ((((HUGS)))) praying for you
