[Here's a thought how about Christmas commercials ? I know the podcast has touched on advertising in the past but when I think about the Christmas season there is always a commercial that comes to mind .Not always the same one but nothing signals the Christmas season like the old Norelco commercial with santa sleddng down the hill on the electric razor!!!! How about a top ten favorite commercial poll There is so many famous brands that have used the Christmas season to make memorable commecials that stick with you year after year]

Although I guess that would really be a generational thing because the comercials that I remember at 40 would be totally lost on someone in their twenties !

being close to 40 myself i know what you mean. It is weird for me cuz i hate watching commercials when watching live tv. But for some reason I actully collect commercials from 40's - 90's mostly kids toys, weird products, cereals other foods or anything that might looks nice to have. at last count i have about 20 dvd's in a box full of commercials Ive collected and traded over the years. I have one 4 dvd sit of just Christmas stuff that is cool. really need to find it and put it on my site i seed stuff.

That's an awesome suggestion. A project like that would take some research and some time. Send me a PM with some suggestions and we'll get to work on it. Thanks for the idea!

How about one on the history of MMC?
I love the idea of the history of MMC. I haven't been here from the beginning and I'd love to hear how the site has evolved over the years.

I second this.

Also, I assume it's in the works, but some sort of podcast tribute segment to CM3 would seem appropriate.

christmasdisplays.co.nz has shown a merry disposition
I can't wait. These are awesome.

I would love to see video versions of the podcasts.
That way we could see the video inserts. Jeff could sit in a Santa's cave and present the articles. The other contributors could send in their video articles to be presented like a variety show.

Maybe...maybe not...The handbell Hersey kisses & the M & Ms meet Santa are veteran ads, but certainly current.

Jeff would have the final word on this, but there could be a rights question ... The music and "borrowed" audio (e.g., audio from films or TV shows) used in the segments are not a problem when they're part of a podcast, but could be an issue if a video version were posted on YouTube (for example), which specifically prohibits posting anything for which the post-er does not hold the copyright. Yeah, everybody does it anyway, but to keep MMC safe from prosecution, we have to keep our nose clean.

Jeff, do you know if a "video podcast" would be treading on thin ice, copyright-wise? Otherwise, it sounds like a cool idea.
