Still, what's everyone's favorite version of "I Saw Three Ships"?!?

Here's mine:

Youtube is blocked at work so not sure which version you posted. My fave version would have to be the BareNaked Ladies.

It's "Blackmore's Night" for the record, but I love just about all of their Christmas songs.

I'm all about instrumentals, so...

Before I started my Christmas library several years ago I had completely overlooked Percy Faith. Just a small oversight I would say! I Don't know how I lived throught the Holidays without it!!

The Straight No Chaser is the most entertaining great choice!
I have to throw Frank Sinatras with his 2 kids version in there too.

It's not a straight interpretation, but I kinda like Bob Rivers "12 Pains Of Christmas"... the guy stringing up the lights ALWAYS makes me laugh out loud!

For an *actual* version, I gotta go with The Chipmunks again...

"12 Days...." is a hard one for artists to make interesting or enjoyable because of the repetition. After all 'repetition' is this songs shtick, so making it enjoyable to listen to is a challenge if an artist or group records it. On a lot of Christmas songs, I really don't like a lot of the artists' embellishments where they try to make it their own. With this song, though, it's necessary if your going to listen to it more than a couple of times during the season.
About the only version of this song that I like and can listen to in a regular rotation of Christmas music is Relient K's version. It's not for everybody, because it has a rock/punk feel to it. But, they put a lot of variation in that keeps it interesting. If you stick with it through the 5th day, you get rewarded with that variation. It's a fun version, in my opinion, and about the only one I intentionally listen to.

YS
