MiketheConductor has shown a merry disposition
It's really hard considering I watch so many Christmas movies when all is said and done, but I think for a movie that has a lot of appeal even outside of the Christmas genre I would pick 'It's A Wonderful Life'. Jimmy Stewart's performance in that movie is one of my favorites of all-time, and it also helps that it has one of the most powerful and pure messages of any film, Christmas or not.
