The Christmas itch has begun!!!!!

I should be an alarm clock.......every year around that time.....mid August....my Christmas Itch begins....I donīt know how, I donīt know...I just know that it happens August after August after August......and in August 2008 it became so bad that I browsed the Web for christmas pages and guess what I found?

Yup Yup....the one and only MMC.....and I loved it ever since.....even tho I can talk Christmas and listen to the Christmas radio the whole year....I still get Christmas crazy around August.....I can hardly wait for the temps to really cool down...they already have...but it is still Summer.....I canīt wait for the days to get shorter, the leaves to change, the crisp air in the morinngs and evenings....the decorations that will pop up soon everywhere....the different smell in the air......oh my oh my.....Now comes the best part of the year and I am happy to share it with my MMC friends for the 6th. time since I joined!!!!

How about You guys? Are You still happy that summer is around, or are You longing for the cooler weather? What r U guys looking forward too most now?

Our Christmas alarm goes off in August. We start making out our shopping lists, I figure out how many cards I'm going to need, we start compiling our annual YuleTube video (a DVD of Christmas-themed TV and movie clips), and so forth, getting some of the Christmas "work" organized so it doesn't overwhelm us later.

As much as I love the Christmas season, I always hate to see the warm weather go. I'm very nervous driving in snow and ice. I enjoy watching the snow fall, but trying to get safely to and from work and shoveling the driveway spoils it. If we have no place to go and both of us are safe at home ... THEN let it snow!

I could not have said it better myself! There is something about August that gets me revved up for Christmas. I know that at some point next month we will start to see Christmas stuff in the stores. Kids are back in school here today and that's one of my "mile markers" telling me we are that much closer. Thanks for this wonderful post.

I just love your enthusiasm! It's infectious!
I too am getting excited and thinking of all kinds of projects to get ready for this new season.
I'd like to organize a recipe collection of all the favorites we make so they are more accessible and have a master shopping list as well.
I also would like to have my decor for 2013 organized in a way that makes it easy to just grab the boxes of stuff I'm using to save time.
I could go on and on!
Ha ha...you opened up Pandora's box for me over here!!

I couldn't agree with you more, Merry!
I don't like the scary driving and always hope it's a day we can just watch from the window!

My longing starts during Christmas in July. I'm ready for the warm weather to be over and for the cool nights of fall to return. My planning for Christmas kicks into high gear and I start my Christmas shopping. It really is like the start of the season for me.

Once I see the schools start back in September I'm officially on the road to Christmas. Not long to go now.

I do love August the transition into the fall fun in stores with a Christmas thing or two thrown in there.
But I am a September Christmas itch person. We are then knocking on the doorstep of the big three holidays and Christmas is all around the stores, the nights get darker and the Fall smells fill the air. There is something about Fall that just gets you all warmed up for the Christmas season!
