A sleet drift late in the day Sunday
This week has been a roller coaster ride of weather, with winds ranging from nearly calm to 85 miles per hour, and the summit seeing rain, sleet, freezing rain, and even small hail all in a single day (Sunday). Yesterday we were below freezing for most of the day, allowing for rime and glaze ice to coat the top 500 feet or so of the summit. This small taste of winter was short lived however, as temperatures rebounded very nicely today from 26 degrees to the mid-40s.
The roller coaster ride looks to continue, with a very strong warm front approaching the area tomorrow. Strong storms could be possible tomorrow with gusty winds and small hail. Regardless of gusty winds from any thunderstorms, winds are expected to ramp up to near hurricane force (over 74 mph) with higher gusts by the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to soar into the 60s on the higher summits for Wednesday, possibly breaking a record high for the day, and strong thunderstorms could be possible once again. So as you can see there could be some very interesting weather going on over the next 48 hours!

I'm just up the road from you! Well over a mountain. The snow we had here last year was brilliant!!, I'm hoping we have lots of bright cold crispy days they are so beautiful here
We went for a ride up Brecon 2 years ago as was 'bit' of snow there......ended up very near stuck as snow got deeper the higher we went. Bit of a hairy moment as hills all around and no phone signal but luckly after a dodgy 50 point turn in the car and many wheel spins later we came down, phew.
Was good fun though, stunning views

This is a roller coaster time of year for us. Woke up to 41 degrees F. Monday AM. Now it's over 90 with a predicted overnight low in the 70's. According to the forecast Fri. and Sat highs in the 60's. Can't wait for more stable early fall weather.

Highs in the upper 90s at the beginning of the week...Upper 60s arrive tomorrow.
Yeah, the hot streak is supposed to end tonight, this weekend is supposed to be beautiful. So I'm kind of thinking of today as the last day of summer (the weatherman said he doesn't expect it to get up to 90 degrees again for the rest of the year after today.
So yes, I'm ready for Fall temperatures, starting tomorrow!

Great fall weather this weekend, mid 60's. It will be in the 70s next week and by next weekend back into the 80s. I just hope the 90 degree days are done. I would like to leave the AC off before I have to turn on heat.
