I love this time of year! My garden is already covered in leaves and there is that wonderful smokey smell in the air. We are also making plans for Halloween

Love that smokey smell that's in the air. ALso one of my other big triggers has always been the cool misty rains that is a little gloomy outside during October. not sure why some people find it depressing but to me it just beautiful due to the fact any colors you do see from trees or anything will pop even brighter in the dreary grayness

Today was our first Autumn jacket morning. The unofficial season kickoff in our household. While it is true I have consumed a couple pumpkin spice beverages, already, it isn't real until that chill flavors the air. Add in Texas A & M vs Alabama, this Saturday, and we are ready to embrace it all.

While I appreciate the grey, misty days of October, the clear cloudless ones are better, yet. The sun's low angle(northern hemisphere) backlighting an amazing blue sky, with multi colored leaves in the foreground, creates a contrast and color splash unlike any other month of the year.

That's cute. We would write letters to Santa & let them in the windowsill. Sometimes it would take him awhile to find them if we started writing them too early in the year - he wasn't watching for them yet...

I love the cooler temps, the beautiful colors of the leaves, opening up the doors and windows and letting the fresh air sweep through the house, football season, eating foods that for some reason we only eat during the fall like pumpkin rolls, chili, buffalo chicken dip. We also go to the zoo every year during their fall fest and trick or treat events. We also love visiting the pumpkin patch (best pumpkin doughnuts ever) and picking apples. We just got a new firepit so now we are looking forward to sitting around the fire.

And I forgot to add: Apple pie, pumpkin pie and APPLE CIDER!!!!

no more humidity!!!
It is now only 4 weeks till Thanksgiving, the hall has been booked and the plans for family get together are made. After that only 10 1/2 weeks until Christmas!!!
I love the cooler temps, the changing of the leaves. The kids are back in school.
Mums are out, pumpkins ready for picking. The taste of fresh picked corn dripping with sweet butter. Apples crispy and juicy.
So many wonderful things to enjoy!
