No, it is a little soon for the traditional early morning firing of the furnace. It will be required somewhere in the next week and a half, or so.

I wish! I am still running my air conditioner full blast! We are all still wearing shorts, tank tops and sandals.

I am envious of those being able to enjoy some cool temperatures! Enjoy it for me!

it is chilly here in CT, but so far, we haven't needed to turn our heat on.

The nights have been cold here which cancels my favorite thing to do. I love to sit on my deck and listen to music. So now it's sitting in the house time, an early start to long winter evenings. I love summer and sure hate to see it get cold but can't stop it. We only had about 2 weeks of hot humid weather this summer and now the temps are just too cold for Sept. And yes, we turn on our electric mattress pad and so glad to have it.

We usually don't turn our heat on until Nov. at least. The lows in Seattle are usually mild. I grew up poor in MI so when it starts getting chilly I just follow what my mom told me when I was a kid. I put on socks and a sweatshirt.

Had to put the heat on yesterday around 5 PM. The house was 62 F and damp and the outside temp was starting to drop.

A damp 62 definitely calls for the furnace being turned on!!! Yikes! We aren't use to that yet...

Totally understand where you are coming from Billy! I grew up 1 of 7 kids - no heat upstairs. We could see our breath!! Thankful for warm cozy blankets!!! When I was in the 8th grade they cut a vent into the floor of my bedroom so the heat from the fireplace would come up - no more breath!!!

Here in Maryland we've had our fair share of chilly mornings but it warms up in the afternoon. For instance today we're expecting temps in the low 80's and my 8 year old wore her shorts to school. So far a few nights have required an extra heavy blanket or warmer pjs but nothing that would make me fire up the furnace. I'm hoping to keep it like this for a few more weeks anyway. I love Autumn, the chill, the crispness in the air, lets me know the holidays are just around the corner.
