Xtree1 Christmas is coming!

Mad to think Christmas is literally upon us again. It seems to come around quicker every year. Or maybe it's because I am getting older lol I haven't bought a thing yet, and the past couple of Christmases I have been leaving the shopping later and later. Well, the kids are getting older now, and they don't seem to ask for anything that I have to queue outside a shop for on the day of its release. But, that isn't Christmas is it. It's not about the shopping, or how big or expensive the gift was. I get excited for the run up, and on Christmas day after the kids have got up, and opened their presents I feel a bit deflated. Do you? I think I actually prefer Christmas Eve to Christmas Day. Anyway, looking forward to hearing if there are any new films, not animated, that are being released for 2013. I did like Arthur Christmas, and come to think of it, that might have been the last Christmas film I watched.

The best part of Christmas for me is the build up, the hustle bustle in the shops (even though it does annoy and I hate queing). The general feel good factor, that special feel in the air- if that makes sense.

Christmas day evening does feel a bit 'sad' if thats the right word, then the sparkle is gone after boxing day....cant stand new year but 2013 has be a bad one for me so far and cant wait to see the back of it. So am actualy lookinf forwar to the chimes on New Years Eve for 2014

What i do actualy get wound up about, and I mean proper angry is when some parents of 5, 6, 7 year olds TELL there children there is no Santa. Seriously makes my blood boil that!!! I BELIVE and so do my kids!!!

Sorry off topic bit there. Not sure if any Chrimbo films or animation are out, was thinking simular myself. Were due a good one and also a proper Christmas chart song too instead of this x factor rubbish. Nev from the call centre is realsing a chrimbo song (Only kelly will prob know who i mean by this)-cant wait-not!

Not much in way of Christmas either yet in shops, but that not a bad thing.

I agree Kelly ann, sometimes I actually find Christmas day a bit of a let down. I love the build up to Christmas. The lights, decorations and the casual, happy attitude of everyone. Christmas day, now that our son is older and has usually negotiated his present, is a bit ho-hum. It's also the longest time until the start of the Christmas season the next year!

I enjoy the build up but for us Christmas day is just the beginning. We invite friends and family to spend time with us on the days after the 25th to sit by the fire and enjoy our decorations and one another's company and watch Christmas shows and movies. We usually have a Christmas party on Jan. 6 and do not remove the last of the decorations until Feb. 2. Then sometime in March I start thinking about the next Christmas.

I love the christmas season and festive atmosphere. There is so much to see, do, read, watch , eat and listen to and I like to savour the build up to the big day. Christmas Eve is my favourite day of the year, it is the climax of the season for me and yes I do feel a little empty once christmas day is over....I think that is why I love this site so much....

There are a couple films due out I think but I can't remember the titles....I think one is a comedy with Robin Williams called A Christmas Miracle.

P.S My children and I believe in Santa to!

I love the aniticipation as Christmas gets closer. I enjoy everything about the holidays, decorating, shopping, wrapping presents, baking, sending and receiving Christmas cards. I love how just about everyone is happy and nice to eachother, I just wish that part of the season would last all year. I don't really gt that "let down feeling" until it's time to take the decorations down.

I totally agree you! The buildup and preparation are the most enjoyable aspects of Christmas for me. Christmas day the best day of the year but like every other day, it's gone in 24 hours.

I agree! Christmas Eve is my favorite day of the year & Christmas Day can be & usually is a let down - even though we are ususally out making merry somewhere! It's still in the back of my brain - Christmas Eve is over for another whole year!
