The start of the Christmas season is only a few weeks away and October is like my own pre-season start. I want a head start to things so that I am not overly rushed and can savour the season.

I am looking forward to Halloween and celebrating my son's second birthday this month to!

What about all of you ? Anybody as excited about October as I am?! What have you got planned????

It's time to get ready!!!!!!!!

Festive Spirit, you just got me all excited!! My nana's birthday is this Friday (86 years young!) and Dad's is 11 days later (yup, Nana received a great birthday present 11 days after her 25th--hehe). The weather is FINALLY cooling down here in Florida and I finally broke out the crock-pot and made "Easy Ravioli" over the weekend--so incredibly good and I got the recipe from....my "Fix-It and Forget-It CHRISTMAS cookbook!! Oh yeah....I'm getting excited.

October doesn't pretend to be summer, as some September days do---fall has definitely arrived, pumpkins are smiling all over, and our favorite holidays aren't far behind.

I also got a little thrill when we went to Boston Market yesterday. They have their flyers out advertising their Thanksgiving dinner specials! Over lunch we wound up talking about what our Thanksgivings were like when we were kids.
We still get some pretend Summer days in early October. That having been said, there's a shot at a snow/rain mix in the northern reaches of the state Friday into Saturday; very Novembery.

Yeah, I took a little poetic license when I said that ... we're supposed to be over 80 tomorrow, but then it's supposed to go back down to a high of 71 for Thursday.

This month excites me because our grandson is getting married the 12th of Oct., and my hubby is officiating. Hoping for warm sunny weather for the entire weekend.. Having out of town guest staying with us and I want nice weather for their travels.

I hate to see summer go because we can no longer do what we enjoy the most. A very simple thing, we love to sit out on our deck and have our meals there too. Winter means trapped in the house, not fun.
