Up early here...taking some kids to volunteer in the "Race for the Cure". I asked our school to make 10 hours of community service a graduation requirement, so we are trying to do a lot of things like this. Sorry, reading and writing are important...but nothing is more important than learning to give back....

Good Morning, Fellow Weekend Worshippers and Season Supporters!

Wow! Another weekend here already.
(Not many more left before the start of the Season, you know!)

And how do we mark the approach of the Season?
Let me count the days:
Days to Halloween: 12 (Look how close to single digits!)
Days to the Season: 25 (Barely over 3 1/2 weeks!)
Days to Christmas Day: 67 (Barely over 9 1/2 weeks!)
The time is slipping away, Guys.

Cooler yesterday but still not bad.
However, downright cold weather is expected in the next few days and we could see overnight lows in the upper 30's.
BRRRRR!
Right now, we are at a still pleasant for October 61 degrees here.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Everyone.
And may the college football team of your choice prove victorious on the gridiron today!

It is great to do with the kids. Here they have to do 40 hours of volunteer service while in high school in order to graduate. High school here is grade 9 to 12 so most will do 10 hours a year. I so agree with you that this is just as important as reading and writing.

good morning gang .... i just had to post this morning. Last night I dropped my daughter off at her school dance and on the way home I passed a house famous for their yearly christmas display oustisde DECORATING their house for Christmas. They were 3\4 the way done and had half of their lights on!

After I got home I found out from my neighbor that this house will be featured in an episode of houses decorated for Christmas on TV. They are filming the decorating process and the final shoot will be Sunday evening. Not sure what channel this will be aired on or the name ofthe show but I assume it will be in the paper next week.

This house is about 5 minutes fromme

Well off to get the kids their halloween costumes today. Have a great day!
