I absolutely cannot stand any stores being open on Thanksgiving and I refuse to shop at any of them.

But we could see this coming...I mean with Black Friday getting earlier and earlier every year...it was bound to happen.

Well, they can open at high noon on Thanksgiving Day for all I care and be giving half the store away....I still won't be there....plain and simple....that's family time.

I hate it for their employees. I

Stores closed on Thanksgiving, it's tradition so let it be. I feel so bad for the employees that miss out on that family time. Even people that can't be with their family that take that time to think and reminisce about being with their family is priceless. I refuse to shop at any of those stores for the Christmas season. I can see a midnight opening but anything earlier is just a desperate showing of greed and disregard of family morals.

I am not a resident of the USA, but I agree that stores need to stay closed sometimes and give folks a collective break to enjoy time with friends and family.

Yeah, but the problem with the midnight openings is that the employees have to sleep on Thanksgiving to be able to go in and work an 8h shift overnight. Either way it's just hard for them. I know we cannot stop that though. There's no way to be able to stop any of it, really.

so true, my daughter has worked that shift many times and always was sleeping from at least 4pm until time to go to work.

Yeah, that stinks. My friend was in the same situation last year. He had to sleep on Thanksgiving because he had one of those overnight shifts. So terrible.
