This year they are having a Air show at the airport near our home so we will have family here to watch the show. Durning that time we give everyone a gift from Santa as a surprise, they will also be surprised when they get here & the house is decorated for Christmas. An Elf will also visit my neighbor with a special gift & a few tricks the week before the 25th.

I have always love to think about Christmas in July. I work at a Nursing Home. One July we had Christmas in July activities for the week of the 25th. We played Bingo with Christmas gifts as prizes. We watched Christmas movies. Had Christmas cookies and drinks. We played christmas music told Christmas stories. All of the activites centered around Christmas. We even had Santa come see us. He couldn't wear a real Santa suit due to the HOT weather, so we found clothes that looked like Santa would wear for the summer. I love it. Some of our residents were confused with us changing the season on them in the middle of the summer. Some of the residents loved it. Angie
Now that was awesome! I wish that I could have a Christmas in July week in my work place. I am quite sure that the residents at your care home really enjoyed it as well. I will find a this year to celebrate it. Your sharing has inspired me. Thanks
I've never really thought about celebrating Christmas in July until I started reading the forums here and at magical holiday home. Now I want to do a party but I decided to keep it small. I'm off on July 25th so I've invited one friend and her son to join me and my three kids for the day. A special breakfast, turkey & dressing & trimmings lunch, make christmas cards, have the kids do a wish list, maybe some applesauce ornaments...sounds like a lot but I'm looking forward to it.
I have never really celebrated Christmas in July either. I guess the way I will be celebrating this year would be by us adding on to our home so I will finally have the room for two large trees in my house instead of just one and also by celebrating my daughters birthday July 21st. She will be turning 7!!! Of course everyday in a way I celebrate...I am always looking for Christmas Decor and if I don't find/buy anything I am at least thinking about it ahead of time
Our town has a Christmas in July celebration downtown. The local community band will usually play Christmas music at their weekly concert on the square, the downtown merchants will have all their left over Christmas items out on a sidewalk sale...Santa usually makes an appearance or two to mingle with the crowds. It's not a huge event but it's kind of fun so we usually go and have a bit of fun!
