I heard it was really great ,but do not take young kids one critic even said ages 14 and above,he said it was "disturbing" and "haunting". what gets me is if its more for adults why all the marketing to young kids, tons of toys already in stores. I still wanna see it.

Fearing spoilers, I haven't read this thread, but have to add (sorry if someone already mentioned): if you have an IMAX nearby, it's supposed to be especially killer! They even used actual IMAX cameras for six of the scenes.

Our local IMAX is sold out, so we'll either be going to the local theater tomorrow or the IMAX next weekend. I love love LOVE Batman Begins and can't wait to see The Dark Knight.

Some of my favorite Batman Begins lines:

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I *do* that defines me." ~Batman (& see clip)

"They told me there was nothing out there, nothing to fear. But the night my parents were murdered I caught a glimpse of something. I've looked for it ever since. I went around the world, searched in all the shadows. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge... Me." ~Bruce

This movie lived up to the hype, and is one of the best movies I have seen this year, IMHO.

Throw away anyone else who played the Joker in past Batman incarnations, because none of them will ever come close to the way Heath Ledger played the character. He is not the campy Joker from the television series, nor is he the flamboyant Joker that Nicholson played in the Burton film, no, he is a deeply disturbed, nut case. The Oscar talk that you have read, or heard about, it is well justified, because every scene he is in is worth the price of admission by itself.

I agree JollySteve. I wasn't impressed from the trailers I had seen. I saw the movie tonight. It was outstanding! I thought it was the best Batman movie yet. Heath "is" the Joker. He should get the Oscar. I think this version looked more realistic; current, real city shots instead of the futuristic Gothic-looking city shots from previous movies. The Christian Bale Batman seemed more like the Batman I remember as a boy in the comic books and in the Saturday morning cliffhangers at the movies. I will pay to see this one again.

I seen this movie at Midnight on the day it came out! It was good, probably the best Batman movie I ever seen

Heath Ledger did a great job, however if it wasn't for his death I don't believe that there would be any Oscar talk.
