Some more Christmas-themed movies:

Elf Academy (2008). With Jeff Conaway and Parker Posey. "Santa, the Kids and the World are facing a blowup. The CIA and CPS is facing a shortage of Green Cadet Elves to fill vital positions to oversee that Christmas is safe and delivered, and are faced now with letting mortals in to help save Christmas and the world's economy."
Live Fast, Die Young (2008). "At an exclusive Hollywood party on Christmas Eve, an A-list star dies of an apparent overdose. A detective holds a protesting core group of Hollywood insiders for questioning. The group, consisting of an A-list director, a top agent, a movie star, a media mogul, a writer, a wannabe actress, a studio head, and others, begin a deep and profound discussion on the meaning of life, including the existence of God."
Nicholas of Myra (2008). "In New York City, December 1822, Dr. Clement Moore — a professor of world literature — is inspired to pen a whimsical Christmas poem for his young children. Influenced by the lore of Old World culture, Moore crafts his poem into a magical tale about a kind and generous gift-bearer that secretly visits homes on Christmas Eve. It is while musing about this mythical character that Moore first learns of the ancient legend of a gift-bearer from the Greco-Roman Era — one that he comes to believe may be the origin of all the similar myths throughout the world. What Moore finds is a story that ironically would one day be lost to the lore he was about to create. He soon discovers the surprising tale of a mighty empire at the crossroads of history, an enigmatic emperor who would forever leave his mark on the world, and an orphan boy named Nicholas, who one day — in the face of unfathomable greed and persecution - would prove that not every hero swings a sword. It is the story of Christmas origins, the story of selflessness and sacrifice, yet ultimately, it is about the power of storytelling and the hope it can bring. It is the now forgotten tale of a legendary saint named Nicholas... Nicholas of Myra."
Powder Blue (2008). "Several Angelenos meet on Christmas Eve through chance, tragedy and divine intervention. Patrick Swayze will play the sleazy owner of the strip club where Jessica Biel's character dances. Eddie Redmayne will portray a mortician who falls in love with her. Kris Kristofferson will play the head of a corporate crime organization who tries to convince his former employee (Liotta) not to seek vengeance on his former co-workers. Forrest Whitaker, who also serves as a producer on the film, will play a suicidal ex-priest. Newcomer Alejandro Romero will play a transsexual prostitute who shares an unexpected bond with the priest."
Taos (2008). "John Wahlberg (RIB HILLIS) works round-the-clock trying to meet the needs of others while ignoring his own. When your life is out of balance and headed in the wrong direction, where do you stop to turn around? For young John Wahlberg, the unexpected detour of Taos became the rest stop that saved his life. John works as a corporate attorney in a large Washington D.C. law firm, trading his nights and weekends for extra cash and the promise of a secure future. Lyndsey Palmer (JULIE DORRIS), John's girlfriend, wants more. She's blue-blood, well-bred and has plans for John as soon as he accepts a job with her father's bank. Estranged from his own family since the untimely death of his father, John keeps his focus on the future as he heads to Aspen for the Christmas holidays to propose to Lyndsey and embrace her family's expectations. A work crisis on his way out forces John to miss his flight and lands him in Albuquerque, where he rents a car to make the drive north to Aspen. In the middle of the high desert, the car breaks down alongside the lonely highway. Exhausted and out of his element, John is stranded in Taos. Through a series of unexpected personal encounters and fateful events with the local residents, old wounds begin to surface and new perspectives emerge as John gets caught up in the events of the mystical town. Lost in the desert of Taos — where life finds its balance — John questions if dreams can truly become reality. A powerful personal journey, TAOS is about dealing with unexpected loss while forging a balance between competing family, work and personal interests."
Together Again for the First Time (2008). With Julia Duffy and David Ogden Stiers. A blended family reunites on Christmas. "It's the first time they've all been in the same house at the same time since the parent's marriage seven years before — which wouldn't be a problem if they all liked each other. But they don't. And matters only get worse with the unexpected arrival of an ex-boyfriend, an unannounced live television broadcast, and the outing of well-kept family secrets. This is a comic, touching movie about what it means to be a family — even when you don't like each other very much."
