Tips for Buying a Fresh Tree
I will do that fresh cut of the trunk.....that was my problem last Christmas.....the tree lost so many needles....even tho it was fresh....the problem was....since I didnīt cut the trunk....the tree...
I've said the last few years I'm going to try and cut back, but somehow never seem to. My family stops buying for kids once they graduate, and we buy for my Mom and Dad, but not brothers or sisters. So that's good.
My husband's family on the other hand, you buy for everyone that comes along. We're buying for great nieces and nephews now, in addition to the niece and nephew and inlaws. I've suggested scaling back, but that was like talking to a brick wall. But I try to keep it between $10 - $15 per person, or couple if I can get away with it.
We don't go overboard too much with our kids, I set $150 limit per child, and that's about what my husband and I spend in each other too.
We don't exchange a lot of gifts in my family so won't need to worry about budget. I do miss that though but on the other hand it gives me more room to spend on fun and decorations. I've already boooked a weekend to London to go to the Christmas Country Living Fair in November. Really looing forward to that !
It is in giving that you receive the greatest gift !
Dh and I probably won't be making too many changes to our Christmas shopping habits but that's because we're both bargain shoppers when it comes to Christmas gifts. We already have a couple of gifts bought and tucked away and I'm getting ready to order a few more in the next couple of days...all at a very good price, of course!
