light LED or Incandescent?

How many of you have switched, or are considering switching to LED lights this year? We've switched out most of the incandescent lights in our store with LED and are getting good response from our customers. But it still seems the majority of individuals, compared to commercial customers such as cities, are keeping their incandescent lights.

I have lots of incadescents, and I guess I will use them until they burn out -- replacing them one by one.

I changed over to the LED's. They last longer and the color doesnt chip off of the bulb.

Last year I put LED lights on the Christmas tree. The colors are gorgeous! I hope to find some that I can use outside this year. I didn't really know about them when I put the outside lights up last year, so I didn't look for them. But when Sam's and Costco put out the decorations, I'm hoping they'll have some.

tree Naaa

For some reason my eyes see the LED in a weird way. I can almost see the vibration or something. Don't care for them as much.
Sticking with the oldies but goodies........

Rodmonster,

I know exactly what you mean. I think this is more of a problem with the "wide angle" LED lights, which are most often used on artificial Christmas trees with LED lights. You can also get LED lights with colored bulbs in C6, C7, etc., and even M5s...which are like the traditional mini lights. I find they don't have that same strange lighting effect.

An additional advantage to the LEDs, aside from energy usage/cost and the extreme life of the bulbs (ours are rated at 50,000 hours), they also don't get hot. I don't find the heat to be a big deal with mini lights, but man, C7s and larger get HOT.
