Christmas TogetherWe're here year round and even though we are scattered all over the world and most of us have never met face-to-face we find ways to celebrate the season together. From our annual Christmas exchanges to scheduled chats our Christmasing together is discussed here.
1) The clutch is starting to go on the car. When we had it replaced in DECEMBER, it cost approx. $1600. Don't know why - it's never happened on any of our other cars, so it's not the way we drive it. Stupid Mazda
2) The downstairs neighbour appeared at the door to say that she's got water coming through her dining room ceiling. Have now had to rip out our newly decorated bathroom to discover a leaky mains pipe and dismantle the toilet. Don't have another one! Oh joy...
3) (and probably the most disappointing) my balloon flight was cancelled due to "weather". It's been a brilliant day, sunshine, slight breeze but I guess that isn't at however many 1000 feet up we would be in a balloon - oh, and there are't any more flights until next March and my voucher expires within 6 months.
At a time like this.......(we all have times like this)..... this is what I do. (This can only be done when you are not providing care for children, or anyone dependent,; you are not driving any motor vehicles; and you have arranged a night to yourself.) You become Scarlet O'Hara in the movie "Gone With The Wind". You declare, "I will think about this tomorrow!". Then, you STOP thinking about it (until tomorrow). You then pour yourself a delicious alcoholic beverage, settle down with a delicious book or television movie or some other wonderful amusement. And you blot all worries from your mind, You really will feel stronger in the morning, and be better able to deal with it. I think Scarlet O'Hara was right!
