This weekend is 50 percent off at our GoodWill store so I'll be looking for some neat Christmas items.
Also have a wedding to attend on Sunday, hubby is officiating the salt covenant for the couple. This is a special bride, she practically lived with us, she is my daughter's best friend so we call her our adopted daughter.

Good luck against Penn State!

If I were to limit myself to just watching FSU, I wouldn't be very happy, cause they been stinking it up for awhile.

Hubby and I are going to the Phillies game this afternoon (an afternoon with out the kids) and then shopping tonight for our daughter's birthday present. Tomorrow will be house cleaning, watching football on TV and will start putting up the fall and halloween decorations.

What is a Salt Covenant?
During Old Testament times, agreements and promised were sealed by salt covenants. Each man would take a pinch of salt from his pouch
and place it in the pouch of the other. Their agreement could not be
broken unless they could each retrieve their own grains of salt. A
Marriage Salt Covenant does the same thing by asking the bride and
groom to combine their grains of salt. Their commitment to each
other can not be broken unless they can each retrieve their own
grains of salt. Since this is not possible it is a symbol of an
unbreakable covenant and promise of love.

Why do you use salt?
Salt is considered a pure substance. Many people believe salt to be a good luck symbol and consider it to be a the purest of all earthly
materials. It is used in many religious ceremonies as a symbol of
purity.

Okay - so it's a religious twist on the sand ceremony which is basically the same idea. Two separate vials of sand representing the bride and her family and the groom and his family. They simulateously pour their respective vials of sand (works better if they're different colours) into a third empty container and as they mix together, so do the families to become a new family as the grains can never be separated again.

Thanks!

Johnor,

I am a care practitioner for people between the ages of 18 and 65 that have life threatening illnesses (M.S., Cancer, that type of thing). We do one on one care and have 6 residents at any time (3 of whom are permanent, the other three spaces get filled by those on respite) . The shifts we can do are either 6 or 12 hours long. (I get lots of 8am till 8pms).
