Yuletide, love and prayers for you and your family.

Please go to the hospital social worker and get support services (free) for yourself and your Mom. Is hospice available? ALso, get the hospital chaplins to come to the room to pray with your family. Does your brother get any social services? Contact those people also and ask them to support your family. Some places have grief support groups, which many people appreciate. Ask the hospital volunteer director if there is any support for your family. You all deserve help and support!

Yuletide,

first Iīm sorry to hear about the passing of Your father and the situation of Your brother.....Itīs hard when everybody is depending on You...so donīt forget to give Yourself enough time to mourn...Iīve seen people do that...and itīs very unhealthy...Itīs hard to find the right words in those situations....so all I can do is fold my hands and pray for You and Your mom and Your brother.

Your mom has an angel as a daughter...and Iīm sure she knows it...otherwise she wouldnīt have asked You to accompany You...Iīm sure!

again, I will pray for Ya.

strength

It hurts to lose family. I can't imagine the hole you carry around in you since losing your Dad. I will pray for you.

How horrible for your brother to be trapped without a voice! To tell you how much he loves you and appreciates everything you do for him and the family. My heart goes out to your Mom.. it is unnatural for a parent to lose a child. I pray that if the Lord does decide to bring David home to him that he do it quickly and painlessly so he doesn't continue to suffer.
You are a strong person! You were given this gift of understanding and patiences so that you could be the "rock" for you family. Please do not feel alone as your MMC family is here with you. Keep your chin up!!!

Yuletide here, home & exhausted...

I am home and just typed a huge reply - hit a button and it was gone - so, here I go again....
we got to the hospital and there were 8 doctors waiting for us - my mom was so very cold and only spent 30 seconds with david - refused to sit by him and wanted to go into another room - there we sat for 4 hours. I kept going in to see him and rubbing his head trying to keep him calm after they took the vent out. He coughed alot and seemed to make some choking noises. I couldn't take it and asked to give him more medicine. They had him on morphine and supposedly he wasn't in pain -but was more alert due to removing the sedative - which they said he couldn't be on with the morphine. I just was so angry and upset that for 4 hours she wouldn't even hold his hand while he was slowly dying. I didn't know what to do so I sang to him - the only song that came to mind was Silent Night. I never thought of it in terms of the dying - but it was calming and a good choice I guess. Mom refused to send him to a new facility - Hospice House - she said it was too far for her to drive 25 min. and she was too old to deal with it. The doctor politely told her it was about David and we needed to try to make his last moments as comfortable as we could - they weren't as good at it as Hospice was - or so he said. She finally caved in - but said she wouldn't be going much - if at all. He was transported by ambulance - with out her. She asked me to take her home. I know people deal with stuff differently - but that was wrong. When I sang to him a tear went down his cheek. He had never done that before. I know he's going straight to heaven - I just feel angry and alone. If that were me - she would let me lay there all alone. I know now why I have the quirks and problems I have - it is thanks to her. She never said she loved me and never held me as a baby (according to my Dad) so I am messed up because of it I guess. But, for now, I am instructed by God to help her. And I will. I prayed tonight to God and said "Forget it - I'm not helping her anymore - she's an awful person - how can you let your child just lay there and die and not comfort him at all? she's not worthy of my help...." You wanna know God's response? "Were you worthy of my help? ie: MY SON?" As you can guess that answer was no - and so I press on. Angry, yet not beaten. signing off - i'm exhausted...............
