I cant quite get my head around anything at the moment!! Im thinking about Halloween, Christmas and Bonfire Night all at once!! Ive ordered Fireworks, have most of my Halloween decos but Christmas...I am WAY late for this year. Normally I have bought at least something for my daughter by now but It just dawned on me now... Its October already.....arrrggghhhh!! I better get a move on!!
one thing I always forget....all these things allhead....Christmas...plus one hundred thousand other holidays in Germany from now on.....that the year is slowly/fast coming to an end now....in lesse than 6 weeks they will start doing looking back shows of the year....it almost always takes the 27th of December that I realize that New Year´s eve (Silvester in German) is right around the corner.
YAY!! In a few weeks the Christmas goodies will be properly on the shop shelves!
I'm loving it all this year. As someone mentioned - I think a big part of it is because I am organizing myself early and being able to enjoy being a little more creative, searching websites and of course, stumbling across THIS website.
My local news last night said that Walmart is opening up their Christmas shop this month to market to shoppers. They also said our local malls are having multiple events to keep people at the mall longer. I guess, because of the economy, they expect people won't be shopping as much this year.
But what does that mean?? It means Christmas will be displayed even earlier this year!! YAY!!
It's hard to imagine it's October already. I wonder if the year round focus on Christmas by people like us makes the time seem to go so fast. When I got up this morning and it was damp and gray and cool I thought "Where has the summer gone.". But during the summer I was searching for some special items for gifts and discussing building the stable for our outdoor Nativity scene with our pastor and then working on the project. It was finished yesterday and just in time because our weather is becoming too cool for outside painting. Now I'm helping to coordinate a project to provide warm clothing as Christmas gifts to the homeless. When we spend the whole year planning and doing things to make Christmas more special for our families, friends and communities it seems like the Season is always right around the corner.
"Christmas stays if we don't forget its meaning"
