is anyone going to have a bonfire night party?

Does anyone host a party for bonfire night? Im sure the Americans dont celebrate this though.
I normally host it as my garden is a lot bigger than my mum's and its safer for the kids to watch the fireworks from the kitchen window. I dont have a bonfire, as knowing my luck it would probably spread or something, lol.
Food wise, I will make Hot Dogs and Burgers. Its great fun although Bonfire night isn't my favourite.
What do you all do?

When I asked about it...I meant, if Your daughter puts one out.......the thing bout the fireworks is written in the link You gave me.....but the kids could still collect it for fireworks and give it the parents to buy it!

No, she doesnt do 'penny for the guy'. Its mostly older children. They tend to hang around outside shops. Im sure they dont give the money to the parents though, lol. Probably they buy sweets for themselves, lol

Ah Bonfire Night, it's getting supplanted by Halloween these days isn't it.

When I was a kid my dad would bring home some pallets on a borrowed truck and we'd set it up in the back field, which was a field in the centre of our square street of houses. The neighbours would come along and there would be home made bonfire toffee and jacket potatoes in tinfoil. Was lovely.

As we grew older, it became common for people to set light to planned bonfires in the run up to the night and so we'd watch the fire engines (we lived on a council estate!)

Don't know what to do these days. Last year my son was 3 and so we went out for a walk around to watch fireworks. I'd love a bonfire but we have a load of trees in our garden!!

I might get sparklers this year though, and make bonfire toffee!
