My Merry Christmas Announcement

Christmas Decorations Christmas is a hands-on art. From the lights we put on the house to the decorations we put on the tree to the great foods we eat in the process, Christmas is a time of doing -- and this is the place we gather to talk, plan and share.

I usually put mine up around two weeks before Christmas Day, I think it rubbed off on me from my parents because that's the way they did it when I was a child.

Our tree is up and the house decorated inside and out over Thanksgiving weekend. I start putting household decorations away around New Years, but the tree stays up through Jan. 6th ( Three Kings Day/Dia de Reyes/Epiphany/etc.).

Every year on the day after Thanksgiving, we put up the tree. It stays up until approximately January 1st, and then it's gone.

I have 2 trees... this year maybe 3 haha. I live in a townhouse so I will have to beg my Hubby to get a 3rd tree . I have 2 artifical trees. The past 2 years we have only used the one artifical in our basement (family room). Then we bought a real tree for our living room (on the main floor). I would like to buy a small real tree to put in the bay window (in the kitchen). It is in the front of the house and I think a tree in a big window with a bunch of lights looks beautiful! Anway getting back to when the tree's go up. The tree in the family room goes up usually the weekend before Thanksgiving. The 1st year we had a real tree (2 years ago) we bought it the day after US Thanksgiving and it barely made it to Christmas. Last year we bought it around the 7th or 8th of Decemember and that worked out better. So the artifical goes up mid November and the real one will be purchased the 1st week of Decemeber!

Christmas Tree

I have an artifical tree, so I put mine up with all my other decorations, starting the day after Thanksgiving. It usually takes me a few days, but it gets done!
