Christmas TogetherWe're here year round and even though we are scattered all over the world and most of us have never met face-to-face we find ways to celebrate the season together. From our annual Christmas exchanges to scheduled chats our Christmasing together is discussed here.
Well there has been a movement here in the USA to ban saying Merry Christmas because it may offend others. It doesn't matter who it offends when we are told we are not allowed to say it.
Others come here and practice their traditions because they know they have the freedom here to do so, but us native americans are slowly having our traditions and freedoms taken away. And I say native americans because if you are born here, then you are a native of this country.
The government is starting to do away with "Merry Christmas" by teaching children in public schools that it's not "correct" to say Merry Christmas. It's not allowed on school menus, it's not called "Christmas Vacation" school plays are no longer called Christmas pageants and usually when they have a play, Christ is left out.
Some employers are telling their employees they are not allowed to say "Merry Christmas"
Even some newspapers will not print "Merry Christmas", it's usually "Happy Holidays"
I am loving that sign
All of us in my family always use the term "Merry Christmas". In fact my DH is adament that we don't buy Christmas cards that say "Happy Holidays" or "Season's Greetings" .... they must say "Merry Christmas".
