We started the outside today. I'm hoping I can have it done by Thanksgiving.
We do the inside after Thanksgiving.

We usually decorate the day after Thanksgiving. But this year we might decorate on the day of Thanksgiving.

A little girl that goes to our church said that they are decorating tomorrow. Her name is Hannah and she is 11, but she looks like she is 7-9.

She said that when she was in the third grade all the kids in her class were asking her if she was lost and if she needed help finding the Kindergarten class. Then she told them that she wasn't lost and that she was indeed inthe right classroom. The kids even asked the teacher about her. I thought that was funny. She's a sweet little girl though.

I usually start the day after Thanksgiving. Not sure when it will be this year. I would like to do it sooner if time allows it.

I have always decorated the day after Thanksgiving, but the last few years I have been starting on Thanksgiving morning, or the Tues/Wed. night of T-day week. I like to have the tree all up & ready to be decorated on the day after Thanksgiving. My tree is really full & it takes several hours just to get the branches shaped & set up! (just more time for listening to Christmas music ) If I was organized I would be getting all the lights out & testing them NOW, but I'm not organized so I'll do it all that week! Lol!

We start to decorate Thanksgiving weekend. This year my husband and oldest son are going to put up the lights on the house a little earlier.

Well.....let me tell you a little story......
I enjoy scrap booking. One of the things I've really discovered about my scrapping style, is that I like to scrap to the lyrics of a song. (For instance, I have 5 kids, 3 step-kids and scrapped each one of the a scrap book and chose a song to them from me for each book.)
One day, I decided to scrap to the song REDNECK WOMAN by Gretchen Wilson.
Anyhow....when it comes to the part that says "I leave my Christmas lights out on my front porch all year long" I took a pic of us (dd, dil and myself) on the front porch, at the grill, with the Christmas lights on. It's blurry, but it worked.....LOL
There is a very brown wreath (it now matches the stain on the garage, LOL) on the front of the garage. It'll be replaced soon by the new one......
I have my fall stuff out on the dining room table and livingroom and as soon as Thanksgiving is over, they will be put away and I'll begin bringing the Christmas stuff out!!!

I really want to decorate now. I started today to do my major clean up, floor to ceiling of each room. Hopefully I can get that all done within the next 2 weeks. Our inside decorations and tree will go up December 1st. The outside lights will go up as soon as I can convince dh to do it.
