Mommies

Since there are at least 4 -5 parent's on here expecting little one's I thought that it would be fun to post some thing's that happened during and after your pregnancies .

I craved pizza and ice cream with my daughter. Good thing that we lived within walking distance of some place that served both. The funny thing was it was during the winter so I set under an electric blanket eating ice cream.Oh and I also craved those no bake cookies.

When I was pregnant with my daughter I couldn't stand the smell of a dirty ash tray.

While pregnant with her I had a lot of crying spell's.

While pregnant with my daughter I would set and watch Hee Haw and she was kick like crazy.

I was in labor with my daughter for 22 hour's .

When I was pregnant with my son I craved milk and pasta. With 3 of us in the house we were going through 4 gallon's of milk a week . Good thing it was in the late 80's rather than now since milk here is $5.00 a gallon .I could eat an entire box of macaroni and cheese by myself.

When my son was born his thumb nail's were so long that they curled under and were almost bedding into his skin where I drank so much milk.

I never experienced any morning sickness with either of my children .

My daughter weighed 8 pound's 7 ounces and my son weighed 8 pound's 11 ounce's and they were both 22 and 1/2 inches long.

My daughter was 6lbs and 11oz...and all I wanted to eat while pregnant was strawberries.

With my oldest daughter, Emma (almost 3 years old now), I craved hot dogs for about 2 weeks straight. But they HAD to have sweet relish on them, or I wouldn't eat it and would throw a fit, lol.

Again with Emma, I couldn't go to the bakery section of the grocery store because the smell of flour/baked goods made me gag. I also couldn't eat jelly/jam because the texture grossed me out.

My labor with Emma started at 9:15pm when my water broke (the day before at my check up, I was not dilated or effaced at all!) and ended at 1:54am when she was born @ 7lbs 3oz and 19in long. She was also 2.5 weeks early.

With my youngest daughter, Madeleine (6.5 months old now) I craved peanut butter. I could sit there and eat it with a spoon only to realize the jar was almost half gone ... oops!

With Madeleine, my labor started about 2am and she was born at 9:02am. My husband was not present for her birth. He was in KY for a business trip and didn't get back in time. He had gone the night before I went into labor and I just knew that that was going to happen, but I couldn't tell him not to go. He met her for the first time at about 12pm, 3 hours after she was born. My best friend and my mother-in-law were there for the birth, and my MIL cut the cord. Madeleine was 7lbs 5oz and 20in long. She was born 3.5 weeks early.

I, too, never experienced morning sickness with either of them. Was nauseous, but never got physically ill.

When I was pregnant with my oldest son, I craved Coke, vending machine brownies(at work),and actually some healthy food.
While pregnant with my middle daughter, I ate ice cream every night in bed(after I threw up everyday for 6 months).I also craved scrambled eggs and peanuts.
When I was pregnant with my youngest son I craved spicy food and still ate ice cream every night. I also gained 75 pounds with him!
I couldnt stand the smell of fried chicken and would feel nauseous walking into a steamy bathroom after a shower.

My oldest daughter and son weighed close to 8 pounds, and my youngest son was 9 pounds.
My daughter was in intensive care when she was born because the cord was wrapped around her neck and she wasn't breathing when I delivered her. That was one of the scariest most worrisome times of my life, I didn't sleep for practically 2 days or more after she was born.

With my daughter I was craving Tinned tomatoes on toast constantly.

she was 9 pound one ounces. I was in labour for 6 hours with her but I was induced twice so I was in agony for almost 24 hours.

my daughter was a long baby (cant remember the exact cm etc)

I am expecting again and I feel more nauseated with this one and I want a burger king or a cooked breakast all the time.

I have gone off chocolate

I cant stand the smell of cooking oil.

Ill keep you posted..........

When I was pregnant with Anna, I craved Curry big time!! And ham with coleslaw sandwiches lol.

I loved being pregnant! I remember though that my midwife said that pineapple is supposed to help with brining on labour, so a few days after my due date I drank 2 litres of pineapple juice, by the morning I was in hospital - the following morning, Anna was born.

Congrats on the pregnancy Kelly ann!

Yeah, not nice at all being induced - They did use a drip to speed up my contractions half way through. Horrible!

Supposedly, curries (the hot ones) can help with bringing on labor too...

what a great thread! thanks speedy!

i don't have kids yet, but it's interesting to see what i might face when i am blessed with pregnancy! (or it may put me off for life! )

when my mum was pregnant with me she craved pea and ham soup, she would eat pans full of the stuff. she also craved alcoholic cocktails (naughty mummy!) but would only have a few sips of one a week, she just loved looking at them and sniffing them - how strange? lol!

with my sister she craved tangerines with the peel still on, she used to eats bags full of them.

my cousin is pregnant at the minute and she is craving big macs, which is strange because she absolutley hated them before she got pregnant. she has had one every day for the last week. the baby will come out looking like one!
