Oh the thoughts of Christmas's past.....some are sad and most all have been humorous. I think the worst would be the christmas my youngest daughter brought in a baby calf that she insisted on showing off to all the guests we had that Christmas...this calf got startled and ran through the Christmas gifts and scattered them all over the place and by the time it was stopped .....it had done it's business on the rug .......leaving a smell to bring tears to your eyes!!

My worst Christmas was when I was married to my first husband. We were supposed to have my family come over on Christmas Eve and spend the evening with them opening gifts and eating dinner. Then all of Christmas day would be spent with my ex's family. Well, my mom and brother show up and unload all of their gifts to the game room. Then my in-laws show up, drunk. They were upset because my ex's brother (their other son) had come home from Kentucky with his family and was supposed to go to church with them but, they showed up late and their son brought his in-laws along too! My in-laws couldn't stand their son's in-laws so they got drunk and came over to ruin my Christmas. We dragged all of the gifts to the tree upstairs and then they came upstairs so we dragged them all back downstairs! It was a nightmare. They left and then my ex's brother, wife and 2 undisiplined kids showed up and more drama started! What a nightmare it was. I was so mad that I made him miss dinner at his gram's house the next day just so that they could know what it was like to have their plans messed up. I actually have another bad Christmas involving them. It was the year that my ex and I were getting divorced and he made me play along like we were happy during the holidays because his brother and family were home. I couldn't take it anymore and I ended up leaving 2 days after Christmas. It was a sad time but, now I am re-married and very happy!

I can't think of any real disasters but here are a few semi-disasters that I can remember off the top of my head.

-One year we had a few relatives come over on Christmas eve and around midnight my mother had to go drive them home. Well it was a long day for me so I fell right to sleep after everyone left and because I sleep like a log I never heard the phone call. Fast forward to the morning I find out that when my mother was dropping off my aunt she was double parked outside of her apartment building when some guy who was double parked in front of her got in his car, put it in reverse, and backed right into my mother's car! Not only that but he sped off right away so she couldn't catch a glimpse of his plate number. One can only assume he must have been drunk.

-I used to treat my parents and brothers to dinner each Christmas Eve at a local restaurant but after a couple of years we noticed a theme...we all would get some type of stomach "flu" right within 24 hours of our meal. Needless to say we no longer eat there.

-Last year while assembling something for Christmas I drilled a hole straight through one of my fingers! Ouch! Actually it was more bad sounding than it was feeling, but calling my mother to tell her I just drilled a hole through my finger was priceless...LOL

LOL, Just thought of another one. A couple of years ago while wrapping presents my mother threw away a couple by mistake. We're not exactly sure how it happened, we assume that in the mess of plastic bags and left over wrapping paper she must have bunched everything up and two of them went out with the garbage. It wouldn't have been all that bad if we had noticed but it wasn't until Christmas morning that I noticed my brother was missing something and so was I. We searched high and low but they were gone.
