star Do you have family you get together with at Christmas?

I have 1 sister and 5 brothers, 1 brother in law and 4 sister in laws. 14 nieces and nephews, 4 are married and they have 6 kids between them. And of course there is me and my 3 as well as our Mom / Oma.
That makes a grand total of 35 people.

Of course we cannot all get together as we are spread out, 3 in Vermont, 3 in Washington, 4 in Vancouver, 3 in Calgary and the rest of us here in Ontario.

Those here will be getting together for a family Christmas party on December 20th.

We do a gift exchange, but only family gift bags are allowed (one bag of what ever per family, no individual gifts, except to mom of course) I do baking and jar mixes and a family picture.

We get together on Christmas day. My parents, my youngest brother and his fiance, my oldest brother, his fiance and their 3 kids, my uncle and the 4 of us. Some years there have been more family there... Then later in the day we go to the in-laws. MIL, FIL, SIL her boyfriend and son, and other SIL. The oldest SIL is in Alberta, so she won't be home and the youngest is there, but her bf isn't.

We get together with my family on Christmas Eve at my parents house which includes my hubby & I, 3 sister, 3 bil's, 3 brothers, 3 sil's, 8 nieces, 6 nephews, 2 nephew in laws, 2 great nephews, 1 great niece, 2 fiance's of nieces & a girlfriend of a nephew for a grand total of 38, & growing.

Christmas Day is at my inlaws house including my hubby & I, his 1 brother, 2 sisters, 2 bils, 1 sil, 2 nieces, & 6 nephews, for a total of 18.

And then we have the BIG family get togethers with my hubby's Moms family & my hubby's Dads family which we have to have at a hall. There are nearly 100 people at my MIL's side & 60'ish on my FIL's side.

We get together with my Dads family at Christmas...my Dad only has 1 brother & 1 sister & his brother lives in Florida, so it's just my Dads sisters family...his sister is deceased, but we still get together with her family, which totals anywhere from 30-45 people b/c usually not everybody can make it. We get together with my Moms family on Labor Day weekend at a shelter house in a park...there are 50 grandkids on that side (which would be my Moms nieces & nephews) so it's well over 100 in attendance.

We get together with my in-laws on Christmas Eve...that's my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law, her DH and their two children. DH comes from a pretty small family.

On Christmas Day we get together with my family...that's: my mother, my sister Sarah, my sister Suzy, my sister Amanda, her DH and their four (soon to be five) children, my aunt, her DH and their three kids and, sometimes when we're very lucky, my brother David will be home on leave from the USAF.

This year we're getting together at my sister's. My 3 sisters with families and my parents, total of +/- 20.

For the first time in many many years I won't do the cooking !! I will help decorate the house so that will be fun.

We get together with my husbands' mom and his sister and her 2 kids. Most of my side of the family is so spread out that it is not easy to get together every year. My Mom did have Christmas with us 3 years ago though.

With us, on Christmas day it's me, my husband, my daughter, my dad, my step mum, my grandmother and my great uncle (all at my grandmothers house). Then in the evening we go to my sister in laws house for a few hours.

That is always set in stone every year

Almost all of our family members are local so we have lots of get-togethers around Christmas! Christmas Eve we do an open house at my sister's house with my mom and dad and friends, Christmas day we see hubby's family in the morning and my mom & dad in the afternoon, a few days after Christmas we see my mom's side of the family (there are about 30 or so of us) and a few days BEFORE Christmas we see my dad's side.
