not Christmas day...not the first day of the season...certainly not Jan. 15th.
The best day of the year is by far...Christmas eve.
Let me explain why I say that. I remember seeing some posts on here in the past about choosing your favorite day between Christmas and Christmas eve and surprisingly Eve actually won I believe. Well I wanted to see this year and really concentrate on which day is the best. Christmas morning is SPECIAL no doubt and the pinnacle and there's nothing like it. I feel like a young kid again on Christmas morning and feel my brothers and I come very close together like we used to be when we were kids. It's a lot of fun and the rest of Christmas day is fun also.
BUT...Christmas eve is to me better still. Living through it this year first thing is I never ever work on Christmas eve (well because I have too many traditions so I take it off even if I'm open)...Christmas eve I've got more traditions even than day. When you wake up Christmas eve morning it's such a great feeling. You are "so close" yet you still have that build up left to "the big day" of Christmas. Going through Christmas eve day is a ton of fun. As you head through the afternoon towards evening I always consider Christmas eve evening to be the most sacred/special time of any day of the year. It has that feeling...we have our traditional big dinner on Xmas eve. There's some Christmas shows we watch also and it just has that special feeling that even Christmas day can't produce in my opinion. But it depends on your own traditions and life to which is bigger...but personally the thing I love most about Christmas eve is that you are "there"...you feel like you've made it...Christmas is really a 48 hour holiday to many...Eve AND day...and when you are on Eve you are at the first 24 hours of it and still have the day to look forward to. Christmas day starts great and continues but as you wind down you realize everything is ending.
So I just wanted to say to sum all of this up...out of the 365 days of the year (366 on leap year) the best day of the year is...December 24th. Anyone agree or disagree?

Another vote for Christmas Eve, Nitro! My DH and I spend it alone together enjoying Christmas movies, in contrast to Christmas Day with the extended family, so it's extra-special quality Christmas time in our house.
