Tough Time

The past 3 days have been extremely tough. My husband became sick on Tuesday and by Thursday he was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. First the doctors said he would be in there for just be for 24 hours and now 3 days later he is still in there. They are saying that the pneumonia is clearing up bit they are keeping in there for a coouple more days.
It has been hard trying to juggle time being with him, being with the kids and trying to get stuff done around the house. Our youngest RJ is only 2 1/2 years old and keeps asking where's daddy. He runs to the window and see Tony's car in the driveway and then will ask where's daddy. I have taken the kids down every evening after dinner to see him but it is still hard on the kids.

What makes this worse is that Tony's family has not been down to see him which has made him upset. With the except of his mom who is in Florida the reset (his dad, brother and sister) are all local. His parents have called him but his siblings have not and they know he has his cell phone with him. The will bombard me with text messages all day to see how he is doing. It has gotten to the point where I am not answering their messages because I have been so over whelmed with everything else.

Thankfully my mom has been helping me with the kids and some stuff around the house but it has still been very tough.

Sorry for venting about this but I needed to vent somewhere where people would understand.

Just wanted to send you some hugs! My DH will probably be having a stay in the hospital later this month after having a procedure done. It is so hard to try to juggle everything...I'm glad that your mom is helping you out! It is a shame that his family isn't really being supportive during this hard time, just remember to spend extra time loving on your hubby and the kids right now. They need that attention more than the chores at the house do! I'm praying for your family!

As a general rule, I always true to assume positive intentions on the part of other people. I know it is hard because I have a brother who isn't very family oriented. I just try to remember that while I love him, I can't control his actions. Keep your eye on the ball (hubby and kids) and try to avoid the distractions. When the time comes, I am sure your husband will make his disdain known for the situation.

Hi siblings finally called him this evening. While he is happy they called he is still upset. This whole situation has been a real eye opener for us. We have always tried to be there for everyone, family and friends, and offered our support whenever it was needed. It is sad that we had to find out in our time of need who is there for us and who has not and it has been very disheartening.
We have spent the past day talking about this, what we plan to do when he is discharged from the hospital and when he fully recovers. We are going to do less rushing around, more lazy days as well as more fun outings with the kids.
I really appreciate the hugs, support and prayers. Thanks....

I hope your husband starts feeling better and you both get the rest you need. I too have family just like your husbands, so I completely understand. Tell him to not let them get to him and that letting this stress him out isn't helping his health. You both now know where things stand and can live your lives in peace knowing that you were there for THEM in their time of need and that you both are there for each other. I know it's tough - cause I've been there (back surgery - no cards, no visits). Just take care of you, your husband and your kids. Hugs all around!

So sorry to hear that you and your husband are going through this. It's hard when you don't get the support you need from loved ones. Everything will work out though and I hope that your husband will be back to good health soon.

Well today is a MUCH better day!!! He was discharged from the hospital at noon and is now relaxing watching TV with the kids. He has to take a couple of antibotics for the next 2 weeks but he can resume his normal activites as tolerated. He plans on going back to work tomorrow but will be taking it easy. He is a supervisor so most of work is done on computer and sitting at a desk.

Thanks for all the support!!!!!
