When do you start baking?

Just curious when does everyone start their Christmas baking? I usually start baking the first weekend in November and then freeze the cookies.

I would have to say 2-3 weeks before Christmas. My sister and I usually get together on a weekend. And bake one thing after the other.

Because I live in a tiny apartment with a tiny apartment sized fridge and freezer, baking ahead and freezing it really isn't an option. So, I usually wait until the second weekend in Dec. or so and just bake like a crazy woman for two days.

I'm going to start baking in about a week or so. I will most likely make a couple of pies for Thanksgiving and freeze them.

We are having "candy day" at my Mom & Dads on December 14th! My mom, sister in law, sisters, & nieces all get together & we each make a different kind of candy (or a couple different kinds) & then we divide it all up, so we bring home a selection of candies to give to friends & neighbors! You should smell my parents house on that day...mmmmmm We always use to have candy day on the 1st Tuesday in December & the UPS man would always walk into my parents breezeway & stand at their door & lick his lips! (there is a window in the door ~ we are a small town, so we all know our UPS man!) It was too funny!!! Goof ball!!

I usually start baking for Christmas right after Thanksgiving or earlier, it just depends on when I get the grandchildren here to help. I started a tradition with all of them to bake Christmas cookies and we have a grand messy time but I want them to always remember making cookies with me. This year I have another one to help, she will be two in January so I feel she's old enough to help, this should be interesting.

Holiday, great idea about the candy exchange. Thanks for sharing.

I bake for thanksgivinig the week of thanksgiving, normally pies. For Christmas I start making my doughs 2 to 3 weeks before christmas depending on my christmas list. The weekend before Christmas is when the doughs are baked for christmas gifts and the cookies, cakes, candies for Christmas eve and Christmas day. They get baked the day before Christmas eve.
