Yes you need to put it all together and let it sit over night in the frig. Some of the egg mixture and sausage flavoring will be absorbed into the bread. As long as you do not hallow too much bread from the center the outside of the bread will become nice and crisp when it cooks.

My mom used to make this on Christmas Eve only using ground beef! What a blast from the past-thanks for the memory!
