Both. When my 7 kids were growing up, their dad and I never exchanged gifts because we wanted the kids to have a great Christmas. And seeing their faces on Christmas morning was gift enough for us.

I still like to give, but I must admit it's nice to get all those gifts from my grown up kids and grandkids nowaday. I guess after going all those years without presents, which I didn't mind at the time, I really love getting presents now. Okay, at my age it's okay to be a little bit childlike. lol.

snowberry (who thanks Jesus for giving Himself to us, the greatest gift of all.)

I was asking my older children this questions and I was suprised to see they prefer to receive gift before giving them. Wow! I am shocked.

Giving....and by giving...you receive the happiness that you give someone....my motto during the holidays is....by giving you receive....maybe not gifts....but you do receive

I'm with you all here. I like to give. Actually, I like to make and I like to buy. I'm a crafter, so I get great joy out of making someone something unique and special to them. I also enjoy shopping during the holiday season and finding that certain something for people.

This will be my first year buying for small children. I hope I get them something they like so I get that look you all have been talking about.

I love to give.
And yes, I do love to receive.
Sometimes, we have to learn to receive just as much as learn to be givers.

GIVING! I love seeing their faces also, and (especially if I buy gifts super early) it's kind of like i've been keeping a secret for a long time and when they open the present they find out the secret! Maybe that's wierd? Obviously getting presents is good too, but i would definitely rather give than receive

Giving - but I'll admit, I like to receive too Giving is so fun but it can be so stressful when you don't know what to buy or have no money, etc.

When I was younger, i loved to receive you know? I was a kid.
But now, i'm 21 going on 22 in december actually, I like to give a lot more. I've seen kids go without, homeless families, and it just makes me feel so much better to give them anything i can, i'll take giving gifts to people who need them or need anything then receiving anytime.

Give. Growing up my parents always instilled in my brother & I the power & importance of giving. We'd volunteer at the Hosea Williams Feed The Hungry Thanksgiving Dinner, always gave to the Salvation Army, & we always bought toys for the Toys for Tots. Sometimes its not all about giving gifts sometimes its about giving your time to someone & showing them that hey I care, we don't know each other but here's my helping hand.
