You (or Jay) can feel free to interview me any time about my Christmas comics, comics in general, love of the holiday, etc. I think it would be neat... PM me, if interested.

In partial defense of "Xmas" (in informal writing only), the "X" is from the Greek letter Chi, which is the first letter of Χριστός, "Christ" in Greek. The word "Christ" and its compounds, including "Christmas", have been abbreviated in English for at least the past 1,000 years, long before the modern "Xmas" was commonly used.

Plus, flying reindeer are mutants... like the X-Men... so, X-Mas isn't that far from wrong...

True--it does not sound right when pronounced and should not be. It was never intended to be. "X" for Christ was a form of shorthand--only used when writing. I guess if it were to be pronounced as written it would be Chi-mas since it is a Greek rather than a Roman letter BUT Christmas sounds much better. When kept in the proper context I think the use of the Greek letter is rather interesting--after all weren't the Gospels originally written in Greek?
