my wife and I do it together every year on a saturday night....it's great...we usually pick a date late in the summer....hang on....we are going to do it November 14th...lol...we did it last year late in the month and didn't get enough enjoyment out of it....

we always get the tree out early that Saturday morning....then we cook a meal early in the afternoon....decorate the tree around 6 or 7...and then watch a movie and drink hot cocoa....GREAT NIGHT!!! I can't wait!

He's also like a bull in a china shop so I don't want him anywhere near my tree! Even the dog gets yelled at for messing up the tree. She always runs into the branches and I can either see it moving if I'm sitting there or I'll hear it move from all of the jingling and I yell in to her, "Hey! Easy on the tree!" Huh, kids!

My daughter, but I put on the lights and assist with ornament placement and icicles when needed.

I'm the tree decorator at our house! My hubby usually gets the heck out of the house on Christmas tree day! He just rolls his eyes when I get all giddy about getting our Christmas decorations out! I usually have visitors throughout the day while decorating - we use to have a tradition where friends came to my house the day after Thanksgiving every year (we called it Wine Day as we would drink wine & eat cheese & other snacks) but now they have their own trees to decorate, etc so that tradition has pretty much come to an end. BUT I usually still get visits from a couple friends throughout the day. Always a fun day!!!! Can't hardly wait!!!

2 years ago when my cat was a kitten he would climb in the tree and go to sleep. I am too easy on my pets. Sometimes I just let him sleep there even though he knocked a lot of ornaments off the tree. When I was a kid we had a cat who would get on a table and leap right in the middle of the tree and knock it completely over. He did this several times a week.

I found myself fixing the tree all through the season.

I usually set the tree up and shape it and then if mom is home she helps decorate it and if she is not I do it all myself.

My husband and I decorate the tree together. We've always done that...it's a great way for us to bond and kick off the celebration of the Christmas season together!
