Theres a hint of the festive season in the air.

Well is for me, may be due to the weather today being dark, rainy and quite nippy for this time of year. Also with just 143 days to go and that were now into August, it really is getting near.

Went for a walk with my son earlier (and go soaked), and it just seemed today had that 'feel' about it. Though im holding back my full on festive spirit as there still a while yet and i dont want it to fizzle out by Dec-though am listening to a few christmas tunes on youtube.

There is always more than a hint of the festive season here!
But I know what you mean about the weather, it has been cooler than normal all summer here so far. We are hopeful that we will get some hot weather later this month when we go camping again.

If I based the Christmas season on the weather it would NEVER come. It doesn't ever really get cold here.

Although I LOVE the holiday season, and everything that goes along with it, I haven't really thought much about Christmas. How could I when the temp is in the high 80's.

The temps here have been below normal most of the summer and that has got me into the mood more than normal for this time of year. I usually don't get really into planning until christmas in july but this year I have been working on everything since april.

I agree...the air is starting to have a "feel" about it! I'm starting to get that fall'ish "homey" feeling - want to stay home & bake/burn candles, etc! I ordered my 1st Christmas gifts today - 2009 Christmas ornaments from Bronners for my Godchildren & one of the Fontanini Wise Men for another Godchilds birthday coming up. (I am giving her the entire fontanini nativity scene 1 piece at a time on her birthdays. This is her 1st b-day, but I gave her Mary, Joseph & Baby Jesus for Christmas last year... I went to Ben Franklin yesterday & they are putting out some of their Christmas stuff. They had a few trees up, some snowmen, santa's, plaques with sayings, etc. Very cool!!!

Even though I'm in the Northeastern part of Arizona (and it's hot!) I can hardly wait for October to come.... it should cool off by then. But the idea of the autumn season always brings a smile to my face... my sweatshirts get used quite a bit and football games are taking place. Crisp air and fires in the fireplaces, picking apples and in the mountains, the leaves are changing colors. I bake my first Pumpkin Pie during the Labor Day weekend..... Homemade soups and cornbread, mmmm then Halloween and right around the corner is Thanksgiving and The CHRISTMAS SEASON, with the card exchange, and ornament exchange...family, friends and the hope and wish of SNOW!!!
