Christmas Decorations Christmas is a hands-on art. From the lights we put on the house to the decorations we put on the tree to the great foods we eat in the process, Christmas is a time of doing -- and this is the place we gather to talk, plan and share.

The wreath in our living room started out being a Christmas wreath. It's evergreens, pinecones, and gold apples with olive green and gold bow. One year I forgot to replace it with the year-round wreath. Now I can't find the year-round wreath, so I just leave the "Christmas wreath" up all year! It matches our olive green living room suite, so no one knows but me.

I had a pen like that. Kept him out all last year until the ink dried up.

I have a miniature kissing Mr.& Mrs. Santa Claus on my desk right now. I've had these since I was a teenager. My mom had kept them in storage and I didn't know she still had them until the family went through her things after she passed away last April. They're so cute.

Ohhh! I am so jealous! I was on the phone with my hubby (Snow-in-Texas) while he was at lunch and clicked on this thread and got excited. I told him about the tree in the basement set up all year. Then I said, "I want to leave my tree up all year"! He said, "we don't have a basement". Lol... I told him, "I will figure out something"! Very pretty tree!

Allie has shown a merry disposition
I keep a small tree up year round and decorate it for the different holidays.

As far as Christmas specific stuff, I have little touches throughout the house that remind me of Christmas. In my kitchen, I have a curio cabinet with a Turkish tea set that's clear and gold. And on one of the shelves, I have a clear and gold acrylic sleigh that's pulled by two reindeer. I loved it so much when I got it, that I decided to keep it out year round. Plus, it matches the tea set really well.

Another thing I keep out is a stuffed black bear with a santa hat on. My living room is done in black bears. He also came with a removable white santa beard that I put on him at Christmas and take back off when I take the Christmas decorations down.

In the bedroom on my side of the dresser, I keep a small snow globe.

i dont know if this counts towards leaving something out but i try and leave christmas lights hung outside so in case we are sitting outside or something but once it hits close to july august my wife tells me to take them down cuz it wouldnt be the same if we just left christmas lights up and not spend time putting new ones(colors) up again.which i kinda agree on.
