Tips for Buying a Fresh Tree
I will do that fresh cut of the trunk.....that was my problem last Christmas.....the tree lost so many needles....even tho it was fresh....the problem was....since I didnīt cut the trunk....the tree...
Our main tree always had a angel on it while I was growing up. We had used the same one for about twenty years but she got broken a couple of years ago. Last year we bought a light up star to put on top and then after christmas I got a light up santa to use this year. I do the rest of the apartment in santas so I decided since the angel got broken I would start a new tradition.
This angel was crocheted by my mom. It has been on top of our tree since 1989.
Mom has made many of these over the years. All her grandchildren have one (she has 17) All her kids have one (7 of us) and she has a waiting list of people who want one. Unfortunately she is having problems with her hands and even after 3 surgeries her fingers continue to curl in making this activity increasing difficult for her to do. Mom is almost 80 now so you can bet this angel will be well looked after.
A bow on the big main tree and whatever hubby decides to put on his smaller tree that he decorates himself. It's been a santa hat, his cap that says Deputy on it (he's a sheriff's deputy) and who knows what else. I'm curious to see what he does this year. But the big tree has always been a bow (although I've gone from red to white and this year I'm doing both).
