My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
When I was a kid and through my young adult life we always had at least 25 people over but family started going their own seperate ways. As we grew up and everyone was getting married starting their own family, they started their own traditions and visiting their in-laws. It went down to about 6 people gathering around my house. I hated it but now my immediate family is growing with me having grandkids and others marrying into the family. Now we have around 15 people so I hope we continue to have more over!
We will just have our kids and grandchildren here over Christmas. That will be 7 kids and 4 adults.
When we lived in my hometown, we had a lot of company over Christmas but since we moved here with no other family around it's just been our kids and us and my parents when they were still living. But our kids multiplied so now we have 11 here for Christmas.
we don't have any family down here and we usually go to my best friend's for Christmas, but this year I think my two children and I might just have a quiet Christmas at home by ourselves. Not sure at this point, though.
Our place is way too small to have people over so we'll go to the in-laws for Christmas Eve where there'll be about 10 people or so. Then, on Christmas day we go to my family's celebration where there will be about 20 people give or take. I can't wait until we have a large enough space to have people over for the holidays!
On Christmas morning it'll be myself, my partner, my 2 year old son, my mum and my brother. Then later in the evening a couple of friends will be there, they come round every Christmas night, we have a few drinks and then head to the local pub for a few hours.
We have a challenge every year between me and my best friend to see who can buy the worst shirt as a present for each other and we have to wear the shirt to go out on Christmas night. Last year i got him a purple silk shirt which looked like pyjamas and he got me a green faded corduroy one with the words "Wild West" on the back. It's always fun to see what we've got to wear haha
