Sounds like you are going to have a great christmas season. I am sure that the decorations will turn out beautiful and having your husband playing christmas music all the time will be great.

WOW! 200 years old! that is so exciting!! You will have a blast decorating that's for sure! Our house has the really old beams in the ceiling and we sit on a hill overlooking a valley--great view this fall with all the trees! And can't wait to see it in the snow! We have a fireplace but no woodburner--the previous tenant took it with them, so we are frantically trying to get one before the winter gets here. Both to cut the heating bill and for the ambiance it will create. There's nothing like hot chocolate made on the woodstove! You are absolutely right~~it is just so exciting!!

Brookline's just across the river from me (isn't EVERYTHING in Pittsburgh "just across the river"..?)

Don't forget, Light Up Night is November 20th..!

That is one thing I hate about living in a apartment is that there is no fireplace. I love the smell and noise of a wood fire. I lived in a house with a fireplace the first 26 years of my life and now I really miss it. My sister has a gas fireplace at her house and while it is nice to have it going on christmas day it is not the same as a wood burning fireplace.
