A couple of projects

So I've been getting back into making christmas decorations, it's my mission every year around this time to make some really great stuff, I'm a very harsh critic of what i make so most stuff doesn't make it to be finished, but I found this great idea on a blog and am making my own version, theirs was cardboard, so far i've just cut the templates for my version which I am so far happy with, but I am unsure of what to make the actual pieces out of, i want something more long term than cardboard so i'm leaning toward oven bake clay or wood, wood would be easiest but i feel oven bake clay would be best, although expensive because we can only buy very small packets of the stuff here which is unfortunate, anyway, here's a pic of what the blogger's version was,

Mine's a bit different but you get the general idea, I'll post pics when it's done, also I went on the sculpey clay website and made two of their miniatures, it's my first clay work, i'll post pics later. a santa penguin and a snowman tree ornament.
