Christmas Decorations Christmas is a hands-on art. From the lights we put on the house to the decorations we put on the tree to the great foods we eat in the process, Christmas is a time of doing -- and this is the place we gather to talk, plan and share.

With my own 2 hands I made these ornaments....

I used shells that I painted white and decoupaged these napkin designs on them and put glitter on top. They will hang on my 1 euro Christmas tree. I only hope the branches are strong enough.

Anyone have any other Christmas ideas for shells? I have tons and I need ideas.

I really like these. If they are too heavy for the tree branches you can make the branches stronger by over wrapping them with wire like from a coat hanger ot any stiff wire.

Thats a great idea. I hadn't though about it. I was thinking if I have the time, I may make a bunch of these to donate to my daughters school cause each year they have a Christmas boutique to raise funds.
Yes in France you can celebrate Christmas in School along with having a tree in the class and decorations.

HoHoHoHeeHeeHee, I like your avatar. That is the funniest, freakiest one I have seen. Give that Giraffe some longer legs or a shorter neck.

Maybe you could make a garland out of them also, or same idea but a card holder on the wall with shells in between them.

or make flat like circles large at bottom smaller stacking towards top to make a xmas tree like .. use a small twisted end one for the top...
maybe even add lights between layers (a light per shell or every other)
then tiny ornaments hot glued on.

Wow!

Awesome! We have a clam that is native to the Rhode Island / New England area. It is called a quahog ((pronounced "KO-hog"). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quahog

These are big hard shelled clams. I used the shells to make stuffed quahogs and the native Indians used to use the shells as money. I bet they would make nice ornaments too!
