My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
We like to wrap what we buy after shopping that day. I love how the presents under our tree grow day by day. Starts out with just a few, and then there is a few more and a few more and a few more and before you know it, there is nowhere to put anymore. But still we go out and buy more! I love it!
Now, I actually didn't call the city last year to find out if wrapping paper is recyclable, but I will do so today. If not, we might buy some of that brown packaging paper because I think that is recyclable and it can look classy too!
I called the city and they said that regular Christmas wrapping paper (not the shiney stuff) is recyclable! They said they'd take it even with the tape left on if the paper is folded flat and not crumpled up. And they won't take ribbons or bows.
This makes me feel 100 % better about wrapping gifts now, as I just love the look of pretty wrapped gifts under the tree. I encourage everyone to call their city and find out what their stipulations on recycling wrapping paper is! You can have a tree of beautifully wrapped presents and help keep the earth clean!

I wrap all of mine up once I have all of my Christmas shopping done. I usually do it alone, but this Christams, I'm going to ask the husband to join in with me. I'll throw in some Christmas music, lay out all of the gifts and wrapping supplies, and have a go at it.
I usually wrap everything I have already bought on Veteran's Day. I'm off, DD is at daycare. I sit on the couch with a footstool in front of me and all the wrapping paraphernalia around me. I do everything except put on bows. After the tree is up, the gifts go under it. After that, anything I buy is wrapped as soon as I get it home (hopefully). The year I was sick the week of Christmas was bad. I was wrapping gifts at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and that wasn't fun for me!
My mom is so funny, she likes to have gifts under the tree (preferably her gifts lol) so when I come home for the holidays I try to have all of HER gifts wrapped so she can ooohh & ahhhh over her gifts. I try to wrap all the gifts that her & my dad have purchased so that my mom can get all giddy at all the gifts under the tree lol. She normally gets upset when we take the gifts from under the tree lol
some I wrap right away because that person is in the house and the gift needs hiding right away. Most I leave as I stock pile all year and they all need to to sorted and I have to decide who they are going too.
