Christmas TogetherWe're here year round and even though we are scattered all over the world and most of us have never met face-to-face we find ways to celebrate the season together. From our annual Christmas exchanges to scheduled chats our Christmasing together is discussed here.

My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
That is very interesting. I knew that use to be tradition long ago but had no idea that Germany still waits until Christmas Eve to put up the tree. Is it a tradition for everyone to wait until Christmas Eve or are there some that put the tree up earlier than Christmas Eve?
I guess us Americans are a lil crazy by putting the tree up 2 months early!! hehe
My parents are from Holland and they never put their tree up until Christmas eve too. As we got older it got moved to the weekend before Christmas.
I put ours up on my daughters birthday, December 14th.
This year will be the first we are putting up more than one tree. There will be the main one in the living room, another large one in the basement rec room and now I have a small table top one for each bedroom. I am looking for one of those 1/2 trees for the upstairs hallway, but have not found one yet.

I live in a townhouse and my Hubby feels the same way but I still put up 2 . One goes in our family room basement next to the fireplace and the other one goes upstairs in our living room. They are both artifical. Im thinking that one day I may try out a real tree though.... I have never had one!
We've got a 7 1/2-foot tree in the living room that is green/red/gold, a 6 1/2-foot tree in the family room which has all of the kid ornaments on it, a small table-top tree in the kitchen and one in my son's room.
Probably only 2, one in the living room and a small one in my home office, I am debating on getting a real tree for the living room though this year, the last few years, due to not having enough time to go out get a nice one, I opted for an artificial one for convenience sake, but I think this year I will get a real one
ya know, for my whole life, we only had 1 tree and I had never heard of or known anyone having more than 1. But, about 5 years ago, we moved to another part of the country, and I started going to garage sales and, anyway, I bought a 7 1/2 ft artificial Christmas tree for $50. (We had always had real trees before.) The couple I bought it from said it was about 4 years old, but I think it was quite a bit older than that. It is a very full tree and just gorgeous. Then a few years ago or so, in February, I found a 7 1/2 slim, prelit tree that was marked down from $99 to just $25. So, I bought it and have been putting up both trees ever since. This year, we are in a tiny apartment, so I don't know if I can put both up or not. I love both of them. The full tree is trimmed in an elegant style, although traditional, no theme, and the slim one has mostly little inexpensive handmade ornaments that I find at craft shows. it's more cute and whimsical.
Okay, so you're all probably going to think that I'm a bit eccentric but I put up 2-10 footers, 5-7 footers, 2-6 footers, about 7-4 footers, and to be honest I've never counted how many 1, 2, and 3 footers. This drives my husband crazy, but I just seem to add more and more every year.
You might think that it's overkill, but to walk into my house, you would never really guess that there are that many trees. Sure you can see all of them, but making them part of the room is what I try to do so that you're not tripping over them or too overwhelmed.
I'd love to post pictures, but I don't know how to get them to the size necessary, so maybe I'll make a slide show and post it on our family blog or on YouTube. Something new to work on.
